Originally named the “Taiwan Province Tainan City Hotel Association,” the organization saw little activity after the retrocession of Taiwan. In January 1946, industry members initiated its reorganization, and on March 14 of the same year, it was officially established as the “Tainan City Inn Trade Association.” In March 1947, it was renamed the “Tainan City Hotel Trade Association.” Since its reorganization in 1946, the association has held triennial elections for board members.
In earlier years, the association’s office was located within the hotels of successive chairpersons. Thanks to the dedication and efforts of past chairpersons and board members, the association experienced rapid and steady development.
To ensure sustainable operation and better service for members, the 23rd General Assembly authorized the board to draft regulations for acquiring a permanent office. On approval during the 14th meeting of the 23rd board, the “Office Purchase Fund Allocation and Utilization Guidelines” were established.
After over a year of searching, in November 2004, the association successfully bid on a property located at 6F-1, No. 54, Section 2, Zhongyi Road, at a cost of NT$2.05 million. The total area, including shared spaces, is 85.04 square meters (approximately 26 pings). In early May 2005, the association relocated to the new office, aiming to provide better service to its members.
Vision
The association is dedicated to promoting fellowship among members, safeguarding common interests, and assisting the government in implementing policies.
Core Development Missions
- Assist in the promotion, study, and improvement of government economic policies and commercial regulations.
- Mediate disputes among industry members.
- Protect members’ legitimate rights and interests.
- Organize skill training and business seminars for employees.
- Provide services for member applications, renewals, and other requests.
- Accept commissions from organizations and participate in social activities.
- Handle other matters as stipulated by law.
